The consumer society: from abundance to waste

The article is devoted to the social and philosophical problem of the modern consumer society. Based on the review of the critical concept of the neo-capitalist society of consumption, J. Baudrillard considers the causes of the dependence of man on consumption and determines the basic socio-cultural tendencies of a new all-absorbing system of simulacra of social life.
