Samara book printers' society of mutual assistance: activities and the main stages of development

The article is devoted to the pre-revolution history of one of Samara oldest professional unions - Samara Book Printers' Society of Mutual Assistance. The specificity of the organization's activities, its participation in the city's political and cultural life at the turn of the century are shown on the basis of the documents that had not been used before. The role of the Society in organizing the congress (1906) and the conference (1917) of the Volga printing workers, that had been held in Samara, are analyzed.
