The article assesses the correlation between the concepts of information technology in the detection and investigation of crimes. The urgency of solving this problem is due to the high rate of development and use of information technologies in various areas of human activity, including criminal ones, as well as the expansion of the practice of using information systems designed to obtain information of evidential value in order to identify, disclose and investigate a wide range of crimes (including in the field of computer information).
