General regularity of rivers underground alimentation in the northeast of Russia

The paper shows that in the North-East of Russia the share of groundwater in the river's alimentation is more significant than previously stated by several researchers. On the basis of the set of materials perennial observations revealed that the proportion of groundwater in the general part of the runoff varies depending on the size and position of the catchment area on the slopes of the Main watershed of the Earth. In districts with continuous and a little disturbed permafrost it increases with the drainage area of the river, reaching 26% in the district Kolyma-River and falling to 1.5-3% in small streams. In districts of discontinuous and sporadic permafrost this percentage varies from 17 to 76%, increasing with decreasing catchment area.
