General view on forensic investigation

Introduction: the article deals with the scientific basis of forensic investigation: its concept is given, the significance in criminal proceedings is revealed, the mechanism of formation of traces-maps in the narrow and broad sense is shown, the classification of traces is given. Sound traces for the purpose of diagnostics and identification of their source, and also traces of communication between participants of organized criminal groups and communities with whom investigators and forensic experts now more often have to work are in detail considered. The problems arising in connection with the use of such traces for identification of communicants are designated. Materials and methods: the normative basis of the study is formed by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, criminal and criminal procedure legislation.
