Discussion of the subject of the Turkish straits in the course of Russian-British talks of 1906-1907

The authors have investigated the process of discussion of the status of the Turkish Straits in the course of the Russian-British diplomatic talks concerning Asian issues in 1906-1907. The attitudes of the participants of the negotiations process concerning the subject matter are considered, their evolution in the issue of political discussions is shown. The authors have also made an attempt to assess the results of the bilateral diplomatic talks from the viewpoint of interests of the Russian Empire and estimate their consequences for the Russian foreign policy at the beginning of the 20th century
