The review of changes of the legislation regulating provision of pensions in the Russian Federation

Social insurance in general and pension insurance are the most im- portant elements of social protection in market economy of social state. The budget of the Pension Fund is comparable with the Federal budget and ex- ceeds the total amount of other types of social insurance, which is explained by the importance of pension insurance and the importance of the tasks solved by pension insurance, its condition and urgent need for its reform. Pension provision is one of the most important social and economic tasks of the state. Its importance and significance in the Russian Federation is due to the responsibility for material security of 42 million pensioners. Demo- graphic and macroeconomic trends in the world and in Russia are changing the conditions for the functioning of pension mechanism. In this regard there is urgent need to reform it.
