Roundabout capacity is one of the most important characteristics responsible for the effective functioning of this type of intersection. In this article, through analyzing existing models for estimating throughput, we discuss the existing difficulties that may be encountered when applying, for example, the model for accepting the flow gap, the empirical regression model, and the leader following model, which is often used in various software products for the computer simulation of traffic flows.
