Overview of theoretical approaches and research works in construction economy development of affordable housing and energy efficiency

The article presents the results of reviews of the scientific and practical research in the field of economy of construction for the development of affordable and energy efficient housing. Focusing on the topics of using the concept of «Total Cost of Ownership» in relation to housing. A review of experience with the methodology for determining the total cost of ownership of residential properties and the cost of contracts for the building construction lifecycle. Shown problem and prospects of scientific and practical direction to evaluate total cost of ownership of buildings as the life cycles of building and owning up to their elimination.
