Overview of the OLED technology

The technology of organic light-emitting diodes began to develop actively after publication of the scientific article by the Eastman Kodak laboratory staff. In 1991, the first sample of the matrix display was presented in the Cambridge University laboratory. The main types of diodes are Transparent, Flexible and Stacked. Advantages of organic light-emitting diodes, among other things, are high color rendering quality and small size. At present, devices based on organic light-emitting diodes are not widely represented on the market. The authors of the paper carried out an analysis in order to find out the reasons of situation.
