Review of foreign interrogation techniques: "reid method"

Бесплатный доступ

He article provides a brief analytical review of foreign experience in interrogation. In particular, the general principles of the "Raid Tactics" developed by John E. Reid, Fred E. Inbau and widely used by employees in the United States of America are disclosed. Attention is drawn to the peculiarity of the methodology, which, in practical application, as well as by most domestic researchers, is overlooked, consisting in the fact that, according to the authors of the methodology, which have become widely known, the so-called "9 steps" can be applied only if there is a conviction of guilt interrogated. And this conviction should be formed at the first stage of applying the technique, during the initial interviewing of the suspect with the help of a system for recognizing non-verbal signals that diagnose his deceit. Reviews and results of studying the practice of applying this method are considered, as well as the reasons why the possibility of using the "Raid Tactics" is called into question.
