Assessment of imbalances in the Volgograd Region's foreign trade in the context of changing market conditions

This research paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the dynamics of the Volgograd Region's foreign trade over the period 2017-2024. The study focuses on identifying structural imbalances and dependencies of the modern trade balance model in the context of changing market conditions and sanctions pressure. The key problems are identified: unequal exchange, resource dependence, technological lag and low export diversification. Based on a comparative analysis, a mechanism for minimizing risks through the development of non-resource exports and strengthening the regional innovation system is proposed.
