New approach to an assessment and forecasting of changes of a functional condition of a human body in extreme conditions is offered. It is based on the proposition that the human body is an ultra-stable system that can only be in discrete states. By external influences or spontaneously transition between states occurs abruptly according to certain rules. These states and transition rules can be classified and described using spectral formulas and indices, wave numbers and complex mathematical and statistical indicators of heart rhythm or any other periodic process in the body.
