Assessment of efficiency of functioning of special economic zone

In Russia, SEZs began to be created in order to support problem regions, the development of high-tech activities, the creation of import-substituting industries to form powerful economic centers in the country's regions. However, in 2017, the audit chamber of the Russian Federation recognized that special economic zones have not become an effective tool to support the economy. In order to eliminate these problems, it is proposed to introduce a regular current assessment of the effectiveness of the SEZ on the basis of an expanded set of performance criteria that allow an objective assessment of the activities.
