The paper describes peculiarities of change of mechanical characteristics and refinement of microstructure of 3.0 mm diameter high-carbon steel wire in course of the created method of continuous deformation nanostructuring “torsion - drawing” based on combining the tension, compression and torsion deformations. A system of criteria for estimation of effectiveness of this method is also proposed.
