Estimating the efficiencies of formation of nitrogen oxide molecules during 14.07.2000 solar proton event from satellite data

We present results of the analysis of satellite data on variations of temperature and content of the northern polar atmosphere during 14.07.2000 solar proton event (SPE). For the first time, we obtained the estimation of efficiency of NO molecules formation per each pair of ion molecules. This value a=0.78+0.41 was calculated from [NO] measurements and computation of the rate of atmosphere ionization by solar protons. It is also used in numerical simulation of the ozonosphere response to SPE.
