Assessment of the effectiveness of public debt management

The article considers the main indicators of the effectiveness of the management of the external public debt of the Russian Federation for 2018-2023. The methodology for calculating such indicators as the share of public debt in relation to GDP and exports, the share of public debt servicing costs in GDP, and the amount of public debt per capita is presented. The analysis of the obtained indicators of debt sustainability is carried out and the main conclusions on the amount of public debt are formulated. The dynamics of indicators of the effectiveness of external public debt management is studied and a comparison of empirical data with their marginal values according to the classification of international financial organizations is presented. The information base of the study was made up of scientific publications, statistical information from the World Bank, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, and the global foreign trade database.
