Assessment of the economic security of the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug - Yugra

The economic security of the regions is becoming increasingly relevant in the light of various threats associated with their development. From a scientific point of view, various methods are being developed to assess this aspect. The assessment of economic security is based on a thorough analysis of a set of indicators aimed at maintaining sustainable growth, since it serves as the foundation for the economic security of the entire country. The purpose of this study is to assess the economic security of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug in the context of increasing sanctions pressure, a decrease in extractive activity and the need to develop regional potential with an emphasis on economic diversification. The methodology is based on analytical and statistical data, combined with economic and statistical methods. This article presents the most important economic indicators and indicators, on the basis of which an assessment was carried out and problems related to the economic security of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug were identified. The economic security of the region depends on many factors, such as socio-economic: staffing, youth outflow, demographic development, infrastructure; financial policy and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises: the decline in economic activity, the weak development of agriculture. Modern challenges lead to additional measures to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on exports of raw materials. At the same time, the budget system of the region has a significant competitive advantage, which consists in a high volume of income. Mainly from the extractive industry. This allows the region to pursue a flexible spending policy aimed at developing and improving the quality of life of its residents. Thus, the region can effectively solve various socio-economic problems, such as the development of infrastructure, education, healthcare and other areas. Based on the results of the study, the prospects and threats associated with a decline in the extractive industries and possible negative trends in the budget balance have been identified.
