Assessment of economic security on meso-level as in case of the territory economic capacity of the subjects of the Russian Federation

The author considers a concept of an economic safety at various levels of manage-ment, stopping at the meso-level or level of the region. In the article the analysis ofthe data on various indicators characterized both activities of certain subjects, and a possibility of assessment of an economic safety of the specific region is provided. The author considers assessment features of the region economic safety taking into account the existing territory economic potential of the territorial subjects of the Russian Federation illustrated by the Northwestern Federal District. The article gives analysis results of territory economic potential of the Territorial subjects of the Russian Federation in the Northwestern Federal District for the purpose of obtained data use for economic safety assessment of the Northwestern Federal District regions, and it gives recommendations about features of its application.
