Assessment of export possibilities of small and medium businesses in China

The study is devoted to the current state of export activities of small and medium-sized businesses of the People’s Republic of China. The study examined the main programs and goals of stimulating the activities of small and medium-sized businesses in China, the number of small, medium and large industrial enterprises in the Chinese economy and the specifics of their activities, in particular, the revenue structure, organizational and legal forms, industry affiliation. Calculations were made for the main areas of China’s export activities and the structure of trade flows in the context of groups of non-resource non-energy export goods. In the structure of China’s exports to the BRICS countries in 2022, India ranks first, the Russian Federation is in second place, and Brazil and the United Arab Emirates share third place. The main areas of China’s trade activities with the BRICS countries have been established. Based on the systematization of trade flow data and the specifics of the activities of small and medium-sized businesses, a table was compiled with the main areas of development of export activities of small and medium-sized businesses in China. In terms of supply volumes, plastic products, as well as iron and steel, have the greatest prospects. The second place is occupied by supplies of toys, games, sporting goods and footwear. Significant shares are accounted for by rubber products, furniture, bedding and lamps.
