Assessment of the epizootic situation in canine viral diseases in Blagoveshchensk

The control of the epizootic process of animal viral diseases on urban territories implies a system of epizootic control and oversight. Epizootic control is unconceivable without the constant monitoring of the epizootic process development, the forecasting and expert assessment of the existing situation of specific infections in conditions of the studied area and specific time. At present time any urban territory continues to be a high risk area for parvoviral enteritis and canine distemper. It has been established that the epizootic situation of canine viral infections in the city of Blagoveshchensk has been and continues to be tense. The yearly nosologic profile of canine viral diseases in Blagoveshchensk is mainly formed by three nosounits, at the same time parvoviral enteritis accounts for 60.13%, infectious laryngotracheitis for 23.23% and canine distemper for 16.64%. Parvoviral enteritis accounts for the highest disease and death rates and amounts on average to 2.76% and 0.98% respectively. Canine distemper accounts for the highest mortality level and amounts to 39.55%.
