Estimation of steam permeability of knitted underwear fabrics

Standard indicators of hygienic safety of textile products: hygroscopicity and air permeability do not characterize the level of moisture transfer by materials from underclothing space into environment. Estimating clothes from a hygienic point of view it is important to establish dynamics of humidity under clothes which is caused by ability of materials to remove moisture into environment. Therefore the research of indicators of steam permeability of knitted fabrics is actual with the aim of providing of hygienic safety of knitted underwear fabrics. In the paper optimum indicators of a structure of knitted fabrics have been established: thickness, density of loops, superficial density. It is offered to include steam permeability as an indicator of hygienic safety of knitted underwear fabrics into standard documents.
