Assessment of the operability of the starting system of motor vehicles

The article presents the results of analyzing the parameters of the electric starter system in the process of starting an automobile engine. The value of electrical resistance of the starter circuit is proposed as a parameter of the starting system performance. The ratio of the nominal value of the resistance of the battery, starter and the electric starter system as a whole to the calculated current values is the basis for assessing the degree of their operability. Modeling the change in the starter circuit resistance during the life cycle of a passenger car allows us to explain the regular decrease in the performance of the electric starter system.
