Assessment of the locomotion speeding west Siberian laikas

Бесплатный доступ

The data from the GPS devices is an important source that helps to evaluate one of the key characteristic of West Siberian Laikas - their speed. Here we analyze the quantitative data of the mean speed of hunting laikas (routine over day working, search, and chase of moose). The sexual differences in over day speed were detected. The differences in speed of search and chase of moose between sexes were not significant. To detect significant factors the influence the dogs’ speed we provide data of speed dynamics during one hunting season for ungulates. The detailed analysis of mean speed during hunting such as rate of chase, movements of dogs when they bark at moose is performed. The tendency of decrease in average speed of husky during work on the elk from the first stop to the subsequent is shown.
