Assessment of the socio-economic situation and development potential of the Siberian federal district

The article evaluates the social and economic situation of the Siberian Federal District (SFD) by the main socio-economic indicators (the volume of mining, provision of electricity, gas and steam; agricultural production; the volume of investments in fixed assets; the volume of retail trade turnover; the volume of financial investments, etc.), and also presents the potential of the SFD in the following parameters: geographical location, demography, reserves of natural resources, ecology, social and transport infrastructure. The analysis of the production of the gross regional product of the SFD (including per capita) relative to other federal districts was also carried out.
