The article presents the results of a study of 26 forms of spring soft wheat from the nursery of ecological variety testing from six Russian scientific institutions and three samples of foreign breeding. The studies were conducted on the experimental fields of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Omsk Agrarian Scientific Center" over three years, of which 2022 and 2023 were characterized by drought, and 2024 by excessive moisture. The aim of the study was to evaluate the genotypes of spring soft wheat for the main selection traits and identify the most promising for further selection. As a result of the studies, an objective assessment of the genotypes was given for yield and other economically valuable traits. The genotypes of the mid-season maturity group were characterized by the highest yield: Ekada 265 (Tatar Research Institute of Agriculture, Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences), KS 29/17-4 (SC "Kurgansemena") and Lutescens 1254 (Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Federal Altai Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnology" (FSBSI FASCA)). The varieties Gonets (FSBSI FASCA) and Zauralskaya Volna (SC "Kurgansemena") showed complex resistance to leaf-stem pathogens. The sources of short stemness were identified - the varieties Licamero (France), Gonets (FSBSI FASCA), KWS Buran (Germany) and Lider 80 (FSBSI FASCA). Based on the obtained results, genotypes were selected for use in breeding programs in the conditions of the southern forest-steppe of the Omsk region.
