Assessment of the current state of the scientific technological development system in the EAEU member countries

The paper analyzes the current state of the system of scientific and technological development (STD) of the Eurasian Economic Union and presents an assessment of its impact on the effective functioning of national economies within the union. The empirical methods of collecting information on the topic from open sources and regulatory legal acts of the EAEU were used. Special attention was paid to identifying the dynamics in determining the priority areas of development of scientific and technological cooperation of the EAEU member countries. Based on the analysis of the role of scientific and technological progress in the development of the world economy, national economies of the EAEU, the main directions and prospects for the development of the system of scientific and technological development of the EAEU in modern economic conditions were identified. The paper also provides a comparative analysis of the indexes of innovative development of the member countries of the association in 2021 and 2022 with the leading countries (Switzerland and the United States). The study concluded that scientific potential in the EAEU is unevenly distributed. It was found that 90% of all scientific and technological potential is concentrated in the Russian Federation. That is why the country takes the leading position in the formation of the main directions for the development of scientific and technological potential in the EAEU.
