The article is devoted to the study of modern barriers that hinder the processes of digitalization in the Russian labor market. The purpose of the study is to assess diverse trends in the development of the digital economy in the regions, including the labor market. The objectives of the study are to diagnose the factors hindering digitalization. These, according to the authors, include insufficiently high digital skills of the population, a shortage of qualified personnel, a low level of development of the robotics market, a lack of investment, a low level of acquisition of information goods by the population due to low incomes, uneven territorial provision of organizations and the population with the Internet, and others. In this regard, general scientific and special methods were used. The results are presented in the conclusions, where the global advantage of the digitalization of the economy against the background of the advantages of the new technological order is noted.
