Assessment of growth points for innovative activity in the structure of the regional economic system of the glass industry

The task of activating the process of innovative growth of the regional economic system in the context of the glass industry has a high level of significance and relevance due to the orientation of the policy vectors of the Vladimir Region towards the active introduction of the innovative component into the economic system of the region and the formation of territorial sectors of innovative development. This article considers the national innovation system as the main driving platform for the formation of innovative growth points for regional economies and reveals the role of development institutions on the scale of national systems development. In the context of the federal, sectoral and organizational levels, the institutional support of the glass industry is highlighted and the author’s model for searching and evaluating the growth points of innovative activity is proposed, which is based on the portfolio analysis of Bruce Henderson. An integral assessment of the level of innovative development was also compiled using the Fishburn scale, a map was drawn up for identifying growth points for commercial products “Glass and glass products” for 2015 - 2020. Detailed information on the category of leaders in growing sectors, underperformers in growing segments, leaders in declining markets and losers in declining sectors. The poles of innovative development of the region’s glass industry are ranked and grouped by relative importance according to proximity coefficients. The innovative development of the regional glass industry was assessed based on the identification of growth points.
