Regional differentiation in the russian federation and evaluation of its level

The Russian Federation is very diverse in its regional composition. This diversity, on the one hand, is a source of development. Different regions have different unique resources and competences. On the other hand, asymmetry in the development of regions creates a threat to the integrity of the country. The high level of differentiation of regions creates a threat of a "rupture" of a single socio-economic space. The article attempts to quantify the uneven spatial development of Russia. The results of this assessment serve as initial data for decision-making in the field of regional policy and policy of ensuring economic security at the federal level.
