This article presents the results of many years of research on various sour cherry cultivars for their resistance to coccomycosis. As you know, coccomycosis is the main and most serious fungal disease that affects stone fruits. The studies were conducted over a three-year period, from 2017 to 2019. As the objects of study, 14 sour cherry cultivars of RRIFCB breeding and 8 introduced sour cherry cultivars of various genetic and ecological-geographical origin from the RRIFCB gene pool were taken. In the first case, the Turgenevka cultivar was selected as control, and in the second, the cultivar of Polish origin Lotovka. All the studied plants were planted in the scientific garden of RRIFCB in the spring of 2011. The distance between the trees is 3x5 m. The degree of damage to sour cherry plants by coccomycosis was evaluated visually, in accordance with the guidelines. Based on the information received, an assessment was made of the stability of a particular cherry variety. As a result, it was found that most of the cultivars studied showed a high degree of resistance to coccomycosis. In almost all cultivars, the degree of infection with fungal disease does not exceed the control indicators. Among the cultivars of RRIFCB breeding, Rovesnitsa, Veteranka and Gurtievka stood out the best in terms of resistance to coccomycosis, and among the introduced varieties, Nochka was the most resistant to coccomycosis. These varieties can be recommended both for a deeper introduction into production, and for use in further breeding of sour cherry for resistance to coccomycosis. Further study of these cultivars is also necessary to determine a more accurate estimate.
