Analysis of illumination influence on productive qualities of tomato seedlings

One of the main factors influencing efficiency of plants in the conditions of the protected soil, in particular tomato is illumination level. However, in researches of various authors concerning the rational level of illumination there is no unity: ranges of values for various literary sources range from 4-6 till 30-40 Klux. Determination of the rational range of illumination necessary for cultivation of vegetable cultures will allow not only to increase their efficiency, but also will lead to reduction of energy consumption by creation of artificial system of lighting. The article is devoted to research of dependencies reflecting the relationship between the productive indicators of quality of tomato seedlings (plant height, wet mass of stem, wet mass of root, dry mass of stem, dry mass of root, and leaf surface area) and illumination level. These indicators were adopted on the basis of the analysis of literary sources. Results of the regression analysis, which was carried out with using of the program «Statistica 10» are given. The equations, reflecting interrelation between the indicators, characterizing productive qualities of seedling and illumination level are received. Results of the analysis allow to say about adequacy of the received models, and also that change of indicators has happened under the influence of change of illumination level.
