Breeding and seed farms need to be equipped with promising universal sowing machines to increase the volume and quality of production. At the same time, modern agricultural machinery exerts pressure on the soil several times higher than the permissible norms. As a result, the roots of the plants are losing the opportunity to develop normally and yield of crops is greatly reduced. Therefore, the development of agricultural machines that do not re-compaction the soil is an urgent task. The VSAC «VIM» has developed a self-propelled seeder for dotted sowing of grain, leguminous and cereal crops on the plots of the second stage of breeding. Experimentally determined values of soil hardness before the passage of the seeder, after the passage of the front wheel and after the passage of both wheels at different depths determined by the risks on the probe of the soil density meter. The graphs of the dependence of the soil hardness on the depth of measurement, determined the density of the soil at a depth of 7.62 cm before and after the passage of the seeder. Calculated by determining the area of the contact spot of the front and rear wheels, the pressure exerted by the wheels of the seeder on the soil. It is revealed that the soil compaction formed after the first pass of the seeder practically does not change at its subsequent passes.
