Evaluation of rhodococcus biosurfactant potential towards the remediation of heavy metals from contaminated soils of Sverdlovsk region

Rhodococcus biosurfactants were used to enhance heavy metal bioavailability and extraction from heavy metal-contaminated soils of Sverdlovsk region. Rhodococcus biosurfactants proved to remove heavy metals from soil 1.5-13.5 times higher than a synthetic surfactant with similar properties Tween 60. Rhodococcus biosurfactants can be used for decontamination of heavy metal-polluted soils.
