Technology of sanitary felling of forests in Russia include burning forest residues at logging sites, causing concern in the suburbs of citizens possible toxic effect of smoke from the hearths on the health of nearby settlements. In practice, the environmental impact assessment of industrial plants on the environment or environmental assessments, including for forest plantations, need to describe quantitative regularities of pollutants around a single source of emissions, or their group. The authors model the pollution emissions from the burning of forest residues at logging sites. These calculations are essential parameters of the sources of emissions. The authors cite the example of the calculation of the estimated emissions of air pollutants on the example of the Moscow region with a unified program for calculating the air pollution in accordance with the Methodology for calculation of the concentration in the air of harmful substances in industrial emissions developed Main Geophysical Observatory and ascertain that the combustion of forest residues are not elevated concentrations of ammonia, ozone, hydrogen sulfide, formaldehyde, xylene, styrene, m-xylene, hydrocarbons and other xenobiotics, and carbon monoxide and suspended aerosol particles which are particles of fly ash different size smaller than 2.5 microns and 10 microns: PM2.5 and PM10.
