Assessment of the life condition of trees before logging from samples of wood from stumps and/or logs in forensic botanical examination using dendrochronological methods

The article deals with the assessment of the vital state of trees on stumps (wood samples from stumps) and wood assortments (wood samples from wood assortments) in the course of forensic botanical examination using dendrochronological analysis methods in combination with the already existing practice of establishing the vital state of trees on stumps using external (morphological) diagnostic signs. The article forms recommendations for specialists and experts in the field of forensic botany (examination of objects of plant origin), as well as for persons involved in the investigation of crimes related to illegal logging, specialists who carry out sanitary inspections of forest areas, urban plantations.
