The article is devoted to the 75th anniversary release of the monograph A.P. Okladnikovs «Sketches from the history of Western Buryat-Mongols (XVII-XVIII centuries).». Analyzed the socio-political conditions that led to the output of this publication, represents the first attempt at a comprehensive review of the history of the Buryat people with positions then states in the national historiography marxist approach.
