Protection of rare ephemeroids in the Penza region

The role of ephemeroids in the composition of vegetation is significant. Among them there are not only decorative, but also medicinal plants. For quite a long time, their number has been steadily decreasing, especially in places close to populated areas. The article provides information on the life form, distribution, ecology, protection measures taken and limiting factors of rare ephemeroid species of the Penza region included in the third edition of the Red Book of the Penza Region.
