Ontological semantics of a book

The article considers symbolic modus of a book’s being explicated in its historic and specific semantics. The symbolic perception of a book conveys transformations in the cultural paradigm. The symbolic modus of the book’s being is represented in the metaphors that have different sources of likeness: book form or text. In this regard the author concludes that the variations of symbolic modus determine accordingly classical and non-classical metaphors. Both types of the metaphors have similar semantics, which allows the book to be self-identical.
