The article discusses the conceptual foundations, objectives, and priorities of a new model of education that was proposed in Russia in 1996 and is known as advanced education. The essence of this concept is that, in a rapidly changing world, the education system should be more advanced than other social institutions. It should focus not on the current needs of society, but on the new conditions that society will face in the medium term. Currently, this concept is becoming relevant again. However, in order to implement it, we need an image of the future that fundamental science should create through predictive research. Such research is already being conducted in our country, and its results should be used in the education system to make its structure and content more relevant to the new realities of a rapidly changing world. The priority task is to form a scientifically grounded worldview among the intellectual elite, which should be adequate to the new geopolitical reality and the global challenges and threats of the 21st century.
