In the midst of the Krasnoyarsk-based forest-steppe of the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University analysis of influence of low temperatures on germination laboratory samples of spring wheat and barley, as well as an assessment of their drought. Research used two cultures, the most common in the Krasnoyarsk region: spring wheat and barley. On spring wheat studied samples 5: Novosibirskaya 15 (Novosibirsk, Siberian scientific research institute of crop production and breeding), Tulunskaja 12 (Irkutsk, Tulunskaja agricultural station), 8(6); 2(55) (Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University), Kanskaya (Krasnoyarsk research Institute of agriculture); barley - 4 sample: Acha (Novosibirsk, Siberian scientific research institute of crop production and breeding), 24(108); 3(119); 26(110) (Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University). Evaluation of chill-resistance studied samples was determined by the method of P.A. Vlasyuk, E.K. Beleckoj (1974), drought-on methods of germination on a solution of sucrose with the osmotic pressure of 16 bars recommended by N.N. Kozhushko, A.M. Volkova (1982). Research has shown that the samples studied cultures differ on indicators of germination is defined by the method of standard and at low temperature (10°C). Delay the emergence of seedlings from samples at a temperature of 10°C was 8 days, compared to the best. Germination of samples was significantly below standard indicators on 7.2 (Novosibirskaya 15) - 30.3% (Kanskaya). This technique can recommend breeders when evaluating hybrid material to determine its resistance to low temperatures and the State Commission for crop variety recommendations varieties by zones of cultivation. According to the degree of seed germination on a solution of sucrose found that barley is more drought-resistant than wheat culture. Rate of seeds germinated barley above to 49.3%, than wheat. Germination of seeds on a solution of sucrose revealed differences in the sucking power of the root system, as the samples of wheat and barley. This allowed a grouping them according to the degree of drought resistance.
