Determination of environmental and economic advantages of alternative electric energy in Central and North-Western federal districts of Russia

The article is devoted to the identification of the ecological and economic advantages of alternative electric power industry in the Central and North-West federal districts of the Russian Federation. In the calculations used the author's indicator of the total MI (Material Input) - numbers. On its basis, an ecological-economic analysis of the anthropogenic impact on the environment has been carried out, the general and specific material intensity of alternative energy sources has been established. The mass of the transported substance was revealed during the operation of the alternative electric power industry, the volume of water resources used, for all regions of the federal districts. It has been established that the intensity of the negative impact on the environment in the North-West Federal District is 256 times less than traditional energy, while the specific volume of water consumption is 13.47 times higher.
