In the framework of the effective-medium approximation, the optical properties of heterogeneous composite with metal inclusions of spheroidal shape having a plasmon resonance in the visible range of spectrum are investigated. It is shown that the reflectivity and transmission of the composite layer with identically oriented silver inclusions depend strongly on the orientation of the polarization of the incident light wave.
