With the wrong organization, intensification of cattle breeding at agricultural enterprises can lead to many problems, first of all, in the question of livestock, which complicates the production process and leads to undesirable losses. When solving problems related to the maintenance and feeding of large groups of animals, activities for decontamination are of great importance. The aim of the study was to determine the optimal age for decorating young animals of black and motley breed using the "Chromos AR" ointment. The article deals with the chemical method of decornuatio using "Chromos AR" ointment in young cattle at different growth periods. The study was conducted under production conditions, LLC "Maslovo" Orel region. The object of the study were calves of black and motley breed at the age of 30, 45 and 60 days. The experiment showed that the optimal age for removing horns with the test ointment is most effective in the first 4 weeks of growth.
