The authors set out to reduce the rigidity of the leaf spring of a light aircraft, made of polymer composite materials, while maintaining its strength and geometry. The paper presents the process of solving this problem with the use of finite element modeling, as well as comparison of characteristics derived from the design to their original values and test results of real structures made with the data obtained.
