The article deals with questions on the efficiency of harvesting grain crops with a reaper working by the method of combing plants on the vine. One of the main parameters of high-quality operation of this type of harvester is determined. The types of grain losses of the cultivated crop are given when harvesting with a stripping header. The influence of the adjusting parameters of the harvester on the quality of grain harvesting is noted. The main reason for the loss of grain behind the combine, and the purity of the grain in the bunker are established, and the nominal value of losses is given in accordance with the established GOST. The influence of the height of the cultivated crop on the harvesting process is noted, which indicates the need to optimize the adjustment parameters of the stripping header units. The purpose of the study is to reduce the amount of damage and loss of grains when harvesting wheat with a combine equipped with a stripping header. To achieve this goal, the task was set to determine the optimal speed of the combine and the rotational frequency of the stripping drum, which will reduce the loss of grain behind the header when performing the technological process of the operating mode of the stripping rotor. A schematic diagram of the stripping header design with a description of its working bodies is given. In the course of the research, an assessment of the amount of grain loss behind the combine when harvesting at different speed rate and with different rotational frequency of the stripping rotor was made. The research methodology is given. Determination of the dependence of grain losses behind the stripping header on the rotational frequency of the stripping drum ω and the speed of the combine was carried out when harvesting durum wheat. Based on the results of harvesting durum wheat by a combine with a stripping header, the minimum grain losses behind the header and the optimal rotational frequency of the stripping drum and the speed of the combine were established.
