This study was undertaken to estimate the efficacy of the technique of transcutaneous biliary drainage for 108 patients with mechanical jaundice of tumor genesis. Ninety-six patients underwent transcutaneous transhepatic cholangiostomy via right lateral access and 12 patients underwent drainage of the left lobe of the liver via anterior access. External-internal drainage was performed on 42 patients. Postoperative bleeding occurred in 4 patients. Cholangiostomic drainage dislocation was observed in 4 cases. The technique of drainage fixation in biliary duct during transcutaneous draining was designed. No complications related to intrahepatic drainage migration were observed using the above technique.
