The use of digital planning for hip replacementin the orthopedic department of the "Main military clinical hospital named of N.N. Burdenko" Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation

Preoperative planning is an important stage in the hip replacement. Various computer programs for digital planning have appeared at the present time. The MediCAD program was used for the pre-operative planning in the center of traumatology and orthopedics. 126 operations of total hip arthroplasty using this software were performed in the period from 25.10.2016. to 20.04.2017. The coincidence of the results of the planning of acetabular component, femoral component, head size and the results of the operation was noted in 83, 72 and 56%, respectively. The obtained results confirmed, that the use of digital preoperative planning allows to predict the sizes of the components of the hip endoprosthesis with high accuracy, as well as other parameters necessary for implant installation.
