Experience of cultivation the species of sort Berberis L. in the north (Komi Republic)

Features of seasonal development and dynamics of sprouts growth at 20 species and forms sort Berberis L. of various geographical origin in middle taiga subzone in Komi Republic are revealed. Preservation of seasonal development rhythm is established, the period of growth of one-year sprouts is defined. The speciestypes, being characterized with the shortest period of sprouts growth during the vegetative season that testifies to possibility of their cultivation in the north are allocated. Characteristic feature of biology of studied sorts of barberry is drying of the apical buds of terminal sprouts at a stop of plants active growth. Features of the generative sphere of studied sorts of barberry are revealed. Perspective sorts for cultivation in the northern region are allocated.
