The article discusses the possibility of using the catfish pituitary gland as an alternative stimulator of maturation of carp reproductive products in the factory method of reproduction. The purpose of the study was to study the effect of this hormone on the release of sexual products of carp. For the experiment, 3 groups of producers were selected: two experimental groups in which catfish and a mixture of catfish-carp pituitary glands were used and one control group with a traditional carp pituitary gland. The selection of producers was carried out based on the degree of readiness for spawning. Experience has shown that the maturation time of males in the experimental groups did not differ compared to the control. With various hormonal injections in male carp, the quality of sperm was determined by the number of motile spermatozoa, the sperm of males in all groups met the main standard indicators. In the first group, a 0.3% higher percentage of live spermatozoa was observed, while in the third group this indicator was 1.0% lower compared to the control. The sperm activity score on a 5-point scale was 5 points for the first and second groups, while the third group received 4 points. In groups I (control) and III, in females, when stimulated by different pituitary injections, the maturation of eggs occurred in the same way after 24 hours, the percentage of females mature for spawning was 100%. And in group II, when using the pituitary gland of the catfish, the maturation of eggs in one of the females occurred 23 hours after the preliminary injection. According to the data, it is clear that the use of catfish pituitary gland does not have a negative impact on the quality of the reproductive products of carp producers and allows for a reduction in costs due to its lower cost compared to traditional carp pituitary gland.
